I've owend my Bissell DigiPro for over a year...And I have quite much liked every single thing about it until last week. Let me start by saying I did not buy this vacuum here, I bought it at Walmart. My last standing up vacuum broke and I was adamant about getting a canister vacuum due to hardwood and carpeted floors, transpire weight, and easier carrying up stairs. (The uprights are so damn heavy and my parents loved their Bissell canister vac from the 90's) I didnt absolutely have any issues with this vacuum over the past year and a half. We have dogs and cats, no issues with sucking power or clogs. We have hardwood, rug, tile, and stairs...no issues with ANY of those surfaces. With this vacuum I practically threw my brooms to another place. HOWEVER...last week my Bissell broke. I knew it was going to happen, I could tell. Certain pieces on this vacuum are Unsatisfactory AND PLASTIC when they should be metal, etc. The vacuum broke where the "Pole" meets the "Foot" (foot gist the flat part where the brushes are). I wasnt vacuuming under anything, or around anything. It wasnt "knocked" or "hit" I was just vacuuming low rug and the plastic literally snapped. It snapped below where the pole connects to the foot so the cable that connects them is still in dexterousness but the pole and the foot have sharred plastic around them and no tape or glue will put it back together. Called Bissell and was told I needed to renew the Pole for $43.99 and the foot for $64.99, since both pieces obviously snapped apart, totaling $108.98. I right-minded dont know that it's worth it. I wasnt blown away by this vacuum, although I had no real issues with it, my old ethical did clean a little better. I will take my $108.98 and go buy a crap vacuum from Walmart...since they all seem to be disposable these time anyway. BISSELLS NUMBER: [...]
Unfortunately, this fallout does not SUCK.
When my plumb vacuum died after I had replaced 95% of my carpet with hardwood, I thought a cannister vacuum would be a outdo choice. I have two other Bissell products (the Pro Heat 2X carpet cleaner, and the SpotBot) and have been happy with the performance of both. Unfortunately, the DigiPro did not lively up to my expectations. There are some nice features, like the telescoping feature of the wand, and the unit is less resounding that the old upright. And I sort of got used to the heavy wand and the clunkyness of it. But now I find that the genuine Bissell vacuum belongings have such a flimsy built-in gasket, that air leaks in at that point and there is no suction at the end. Bissell customer support was not cooperative and are not aware of any problems. I will try to find the non-Bissell vacuum bags that I bought once before that had a stronger gasket, and save my pennies for a new vacuum that in fact does suck.
Hoover 12 amp is better.
This is not a bad mcahine but does not have enough suciton power. I initially opted for this one becuase it has a powered con but the suction let me down. HEPA filter is nice but I would prefer more suction and use a HEPA BAG.

Nasty Vacuum, Waste of Money!
My spouse and I purchased this vacuum probably four years ago. At first we thought it was great, worked good and was casual to use. Over time, however, I've become less and less enamored with it. Let me give some examples.
First, it does clog very easily because of the design. Secondly, I've found that there are issues with keeping a kind-hearted connection between the hose and the canister section. As you move around with it, it tends to try and yank itself out, resulting in constant and irritating 'brown outs' where you lose power to the sweeper (and the light).
Another thing I don't like is the suction. It starts off beautiful good, but it drops off pretty quick and towards the end, when the bag is filling up, it's pretty much useless. And no, the HEPA strainer does not work very well at all on this unit, it blows the majority right back out. I don't personally use this feature, or regard about it I guess I should say, so it didn't matter to me. If it matters to you, avoid this unit like the plague.
At the last moment, probably the worst thing, is that the hose is constantly kinking itself, becoming twisted (to where it will keep trying to wrinkle until you untwist it) and so on. The last straw for me was when the hose completely separated from the handle without warning. One minute I'm vacuuming, the next I gather a suction noise and notice that I'm holding onto a handle where the hose is dangling out the end by a thread (the break down that has the wiring in it).
I got a couple years of service from this unit, and it does vacuum, but it's got too many imperfections to it. I would never buy this vacuum again and I'd strongly tell anyone here to carefully read all these negative reviews, look at all the consistent problems (especially the hose!) and shun far clear of this thing.
Doormat attachment clogs easily
The doormat attachment has clogged twice in the handful of times I've used it. The first time, I had to take off six screws to unclog. The subsequent time, I managed to clear it with a long screw-driver and the wand was also clogged. My 15-yr old Hoover picked up change one's mind.

It bio-degrades while you anticipateI've had the 1400-7 ideal about 6 months. Used it a few times in my car. The size seemed great for that. It's probably been used 6 times. I tried to use it today, but it wouldn't sprawl. Couldn't find anything on the internet relative to a spray problem, and since I figured it was "out of warranty", I thought I'd consider myself. (it's held together with about a 1/2 dozen philips screws. Bottom line, the spray motor had leaked where it couples to the execution hose fitting(s), which had completely rusted the bottom of the motor causing failure. Seems to be a quickly paper unit to me. (The manufacturer seems to relish in the fact it's made of bio-degradable materials - apparently they bio-degrade while you be careful of). Considering what I paid for it, I guess the average cost of ownership is about $12 per use. That seems a trivial steep to me, I wouldn't recommend it at all.
Bissell cleaner
This was Brobdingnagian. Cleaned everything inside a RV. All carpets and furniture came out clean. Nice and portable. Will edge another if this one ever breaks down.
Like an Eraser
I bought it specifically for my cat's hairball stains. I flooded the solution and water mixture over a month ago and still haven't had to refill it after many, many cat mishaps. It cleans the stains very well and dry beforehand is not too long. The only thing I can foresee is, over a long period of time, the part for the water suction on the end of the hose (next to the nail-brush) could possibly get dirt trapped in it. Though I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of a pain to clean it out. The weight of it is very flare so it's easy to carry up the stairs. Love it so far!
Effectual and easy!
I tried getting a pet soil out of the carpet unsuccessfully with several rounds of Resolve treatment, and decided to buy this Bissell to try to get the stain out (it was in a very prominent discovery on the carpet). I was very happy with the results! The stain came out right away, and the machine was accommodating to use. I've used it on several spots since, also with good results. I like that i can store it 'ready to use'. I have a full-sized doormat cleaner, but it's just too much of a hassle to get out for every small stain. I have 2 cats and a foster dog, so i frequently have negligible stains that need to be cleaned. This is perfect for those situations!
Ok, But Could be Much More intelligent
We purchased this car mainly for cleaning up pet stains, etc. Prior to this we were using our large shopvac. I find the Little Rural more convenient, however it does not have the suction that the shopvac does and I really don't think it works as well.
The bedspread comes out at a wide angle and I find this annoying, since it is usually much wider than the area being worked on.
Definitively, I wonder how well the cleaning fluid works, since we usually only use a small amount and then the rest sits in the component until the next time, so it is always at room temperature. I know there is a new version with a heater, but personally I don't think this would swap my review much.
Overall it's an ok machine, but I prefer the shopvac except for the fact that it is much larger and less convenient.

It got so much embedded dope from the doormat that my Bissell® CleanView® Helix Perpendicular Vacuum ($89.99) didn't get, and the Bissell is a very stitch assets c incriminating evidence vacuum!
