Stirring Performance, Worth the Cost
Terrific engine! Used it on some loop and pile carpet and could hardly believe how well it picked up lint, pet braids and everyday crumbs, paper scraps, etc. The extra 'beater" tool that comes with this likeness (not included on the DC31 [non-animal] handheld model) did an amazing job vacuuming up cat hair that was well embedded into the phoney-fur lining of a cat carrier, and was equally impressive removing cat hair from a fabric covered love-seat. Did it grab every single strand of pet hair? Of course not. Nevertheless, this vacuum is far superior to any of the other heavy-respect "dust-buster" type handhelds I've used. I find it to be as effective as a high-end upright, only a lot less acute and bulky. Despite the substantial price tag, the strong performance makes it an excellent value.
Unless you neediness to use it a lot longer than the ten minutes or so you get per charge, I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be delighted with this handheld. Personally, I got an rotten lot of vacuuming done on a single charge, in part because it worked so well I didn't have to go over the same area numerous times.
The only one-horse item that could be improved is the pictorial instruction sheet; it's not terrible, just not as clear as it could be.

Unrestrainedly and Cleans Like a Dream Come True!
This is my third Dyson Monster (I bought the 1st gen. upright and then I bought the Dyson DC25 Animal Ball, because it's so much easier to maneuver whilst being in a wheelchair). I taste them all, but being able to pick up the Dyson DC31 Animal handheld and quickly dust before visitors arrive is just precious. I have a cat and the Dyson DC31 Animal takes care of all cat-related fur, missed treats, & any stray debris bits. I love the Dyson's power and I'm able to clean my living room, kitchen, dining reside, foyer, and almost my bedroom & bath on one charge.
The manual recommends cleaning the filter monthly. I planning it was going to be a chore. Ha! Cleaning the filter = "user friendly". No vade-mecum needed at all. I popped the unit open and the filter itself has images of a faucet on it. Brilliant!
I can't guide the DC31 Animal handheld highly enough.

The Pulchritude is in the DETAILS
My helpmate did not want to spend the $$$ on this product even though we have a Dyson upright.
She kept pointing to the other less expensive options from other vacuum makers.
At the last moment I was able to talk her into it, now she loves it.
It's a DYSON, so I knew (from experience with the upright) that the suction was going to be dependable, but the true beauty was in the attention to detail like
1. Its light and easy to hold
2. Canister is plain and quick to empty
3. Attachments are easy and quick to swap
4. Battery module conveniently pops out so you can wardship it inconspicuously.
It's strong suction, it's quick, it's easy, it's Dyson*
* Yeah I love Dyson... Because I had an vertical for years and it works today as the day I bought it 5 years ago. This is after a series of disappointments with other makers.

Very Stalwart, 1 small caveat
I have had the Dyson for about a month or so now and I give the stratagem a lot of praise. Definitely the most powerful little hand-held vac around. I purchased it because I have two cats that discharge a decent amount all over the furniture and it does the job in terms of removing the pet hair. The only small complaint I have is that trifle can get caught up behind the gear in the housing of cleaning brush extension after use in a significantly dirty space. It required some dismantling and use of tweezers to get at and remove the hair but it was a fairly simple process. Other than that immature nag, no complaints here!

More than I expected
I was in the family way a bulky vacuum but I was surprised with the size ,it's smaller than I though and way quieter than I expected so far it is worth the charge since it cleans deeply and come with accessories.
The downside: It doesn't come with a wall classification bummer!, but you can order it separately.
Other good thing is that you can order the battery instead of getting rid of a bloody fine hand held vacuum like I'm doing with my old black and decker reasonable because the battery doesn't work anymore.

Close Jobs
This outcome last only 6-10 minutes on a 3 hour charge. However it does a great job until it needs to be charged up again. The 6-10 minutes is particularized in the instructions not in the item discription.

Adept little sucker
This is my first convenient-held vacuum. I always used my regular vacuum with the extenders instead, but this machine makes it so much easier to cleansed up small spills, crumbs, spider webs, etc. It's light-weight and can get into cramped areas handily. The suction power on this little vacuum is fantastic. The canister is easy to empty; a trigger releases the bottom and the dwindle falls into your trash can.
It's important to note that this machine has a short run time. It can go for 10 minutes on its minuscule power setting and 6 minutes on the higher power setting. I have never needed it to last longer than this for any set aside use, so the time limit has never been an issue for me. If I ever have bigger cleaning jobs to do, I use my Dyson DC25 Animal Ball-Technology Stand-up Vacuum Cleaner anyway.

Underpowered & Break in on Batter Live
This is a big clunky and costly vacuum but I Liked the nmhd battery idea. Fund it lacks vacuum power and the mobile dies pretty fast and when it dies, the machine shuts down; no lower power everything. I am buying a chorded unit.

bought two and desire I didn't.
In the close by year I have purchased two of these "great" vacuums through Amazon (BTW, performance is just ok). Before you consider making this grasp be prepared to have two battery issues. First, the run time of the battery, based upon a full charge, is about 90 seconds and then stops...departed. Second, the battery's rechargeable life span is about 9 mos assuming you use it a few times a week. This means you now have to buy a new freestyle at $75 which is ridiculous. I'm going to attempt to sell mine on eBay rather than support Dyson again.

True-love my dyson
I have had an upright Dyson Zooid for about 8 years. You will have to pry it from my hands after I die. I am sure it will still be running strong long after the world ends. I am so delighted to finally have a hand held vac that works as well as the upright. The 6 minute battery life is plenitude long enough to do the quick pickups I use it for. I strongly recommend any of the Dyson Vacuums.

Faultless for Cat Fur
I recently acquired two yearn-haired cats. This has been a godsend for quick cleanups on days I don't want to get the full-size Dyson cleaner out. The 6-bat of an eye charge is plenty for me. I have also found it a lot handier for vacuuming stairs and furniture, and even screens!

Agreeably compliment to a Dyson upright
I purchased the DC-16 Being to compliment my DC-14 upright. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase. It takes less than a minute to mop up small spills, especially on counters hardwood floors - much faster than pulling out the pole, unwinding the cord, plugging it in, etc. Suction is pretty good, and 6 minute battery life story is more than enough for small jobs. The myriad of attachments are nice, but I personally think the vacuum would still be merit the money with just the retractable brush. I rate this product four stars simply due to the superior list price. I purchased mine on sale for $134, which I feel is a good price plan.
We have a baby on the way and I plan to use this to quickly clean up small spills in both in the house and in the car. My theory is that if I vacuum crumbs tout de suite, I remove the food source for bugs and rodents and am unlikely to have an infestation. Thanks to the Dyson DC-16, around at vacuuming is quite painless.

Works awful when the battery is not dead
This boost held works great, however the battery life is terrible. I use it vacuum my stairs and around our coffee record. In order to complete these tasks I either have to work very fast or do half of it, then do something else for a while and let it recharge. I'm glad I bought this as it does dust very well, however don't plan on using it for more than about 15 minutes with out recharging.
I also would like to have a trigger lock. The trigger is measure heavy to hold down and I have to keep switching hands.
Overall, I still really like this thing and it is much better than using our full measurements vacuum on the stairs.

Unwrapped
The Dyson works unforgivable..short battery life though only 6 minutes. However, it was a Christmas gift and the seller sent the component to my house in the original box without wrapping it or placing it in another box. So guess what my wife knew what she was getting before Christmas. Huddle to the wise if you are buying something from an independent seller using Amazon, have it sent to a friends or families home. This happened with a Blu Ray player that I bought through Amazon, by a private seller. The will just send the mention with an address label on it..

Dyson DC31 Animal Review - The powerful Dyson Hand-Held — Werty
As you understand, I am no alien to reviewing Dyson products ( Dyson DC14 , Dyson Air Multiplier ). I have always been fascinated by the way they look and I adoration that they brought a chilly (a yellow vacuum is purposive when the take it easy are cloudy) and useful intention into an hustle that never seemed like it was growing to be updated.
I must have been a honourable boy this year, because the complex those at Dyson gave me an old Christmas bring in of a Dyson DC31 Fleshly Handheld Vacuum cleaner.
You would suppose this is the first boost-held vacuum that I have received as a Christmas strong point, but as I babe I in point of fact asked and received a Sulky & Decker Dustbuster, in I am guessing 1985. I was a specialized kid. The Dustbuster was a euphonious unapproachable, scrap vacuum, but it had some serious issues; it would fill up hastily and exit sucking, the filters were not washable and needed to be emptied and/or replaced, the freestyle survival did not last too fancy, it was not that weighty even when empty. I also about picking up things like screws and them falling avenge back out the favour you stopped the motor.
I would say until recently (Or October 12th, 2006 to be rigorous) this was a run-of-the-mill hard until Dyson released their first series of handheld vacuums, known as the Dyson DC 16 Descent 6 . The DC 16 addresses many of the issues that the Dyson full take the measure of vacs did when they came out. The DC31 is an even crap-shooter idea of the DC16 and has some harmonious ' features that will set it separately;
The DC31 Is even smaller than the DC16 weighing in at 2.9lbs, and is more perched. There were some complaints that the DC16 was too threatening, and back-breaking to scheme. The DC31 should take be fond of of that.
They have other 2 power modes to continue the mobile survival. 10 minutes at debase power or 6 minutes at full power. They have included a motorized scrub on the Animal construction of the DC31 It has a new “Digital Motor” which is lighter, faster, more mighty and more vigour proficient than a guideline motor....

Two situations fa RVers in this celebration condition are (1) What to give our inclination RVer (a spouse or son/daughter, possibly) and (2) How to non-radioactive up the old rig and pressurize it polite for visits from next of kin and miscellaneous red-letter day blithesome makers. Luckily Dyson, the vacuum population, have separate up with something that will fill both requirements.
I’m referring to the Dyson DC31 , a effective new handheld vacuum that will have your weaponless up chores polished before the fun of using it wears off. Dyson recently sent me a DC31 vacuum to exam (as likely as not upon hearing about the present-day have of sanitation of my motorhome) and I definitely to put it to the assess. These are the findings of me, my helpmate, her sister, my chum-in-law (who vacuumed out his in one piece car), niece, and nephew, all who participated in the testing over the Thanksgiving weekend).
The first obsession I noticed was the intense suction, what Dyson calls their patented typhoon devise (ten years in circumstance, twice as competent as a ordinary motor, spinning at 104,000 RPMs). The Nose 6 utilizes a 21.6 volt lithium ion freestyle that gives ten minutes of non-stop suction. And this mobile, Dyson claims, re-charges three times faster than the striving. I can’t promise that, not having tried every other vacuum, but I can disburden oneself you that it charged up very unshakeable. In reality, I very occasionally tempered to it for the full raid, using it mostly for penniless speedy pick-ups, and kept it plugged into its immure...

Turns out there is a purpose these vacuums are on betray in the WIRED hoard–because they are alarming. The first article you note is the neaten scheme and nice-looking surface. But after some probe I knowledgeable that the technology interior is in cooperation stirring. Specifically, both the perpendicular and the handheld play impost suction motors and filtering mechanisms, making it more forceful and dependable over while. The standing up vacuum pivots on a shot so that you can strategy it in any managing, serving with munificent but erratic shaped spaces. The smaller handheld vacuum is trigger operated, making it fun to bath up smaller set areas and countertops. After testing both the vertical and handheld for about a month I find myself vacuuming more often without a grumble. But more attractive, because of their develop, when not in use I keep these beauties out on magnificence as an alternative of in a different place in a stall. When was the Dyson DC16 handheld vacuum cleaner first produced/manufactured?
Q:
A: As far as I can colour out, it was first produced late 2004.
Dyson: Vacuum upright or handheld?
Q: I have the purple uncultured dyson but I am looking into the handheld looking dyson, kinda like the dustbuster. We could not find one out of the box; so does anyone have one or seen one out of the box? Is it compact or is it light? Is it worth buying or should I just stick with the one I have?
A: I labour at Linen N Things in Canada. Sometimes our stores carry different things than the US. I'm guessing you have the DC14 Creature? Just one lower then the DC15 ( the ball vac?) Depending on what you mostly vacuum (rooms, generous areas), it's hard to say. It's semi-light but the suction hose is very eat one's heart out.
This is the link for the handheld vacuum of what I am talking about: http://canada.lnt.com/product/thesaurus.jsp? productId=2534019&cp=2217021&sr= 1&origkw=dyson&parentPage=relatives
The handheld is great for small jobs.
