incomprehensible and bulkyI purchased this vacuum based on the reduced expense at that time but really wish I had not done that. It's pretty bulky and heavy with average cleaning power. And himself I really don't care for the bagless design. A dust storm is created every time I try to empty the pail. I wouldn't recommend this vacuum to my friends and relatives.

Discouraging vaccum for a number of reasons!
I bought this vacuum for its many features and name brand reputation. I was very disappointed in both. The vacuum is very top heavy and tips over at the slightess touch. I have a few bruises and my walls a few scratches and dents! The retractable string performs sporadically. The dirt cup needs to be emptied more often than I would have thought based on its size, but the vacuum begins to spend suction power if you don't empty often. I have tile and hardwood floors and the vacuum does not perform as well on them as indicated that it would. You have to make many passes to pick up the refuse.
The attachments are ok, but do not stay in place on the vacuum when not in use. I hot glued the power roller holder onto the tackle!!!
I wish I had returned it when I purchased it. My search for a decent upright vacuum will continue.
Too bad the units is SO volatile needs a recall!
I went through 3 other vacuums before buying this one and I am quite happy with it EXCEPT .........and this is a HUGE EXCEPT: The unit is so unstable it tips over constantly. Very little strain in the wrong direction with the cord or hose and the unit is tipped over. I don't know if this is bad engineering or it fair needs to be heavier but it falls into walls and makes a mark- falls over onto kids, dogs, cats you name it. In approach of this issue- which I really feel is a safety issue I would not recommend the unit. Next time I will find one with the peremptory features I do like but it has to be stable.
Hoped for more from Panasonic
My occurrence with Panasonic has been pretty good. Unfortunately, they let me down with this item. It's just not well designed. I do NOT recommend it
main issues:
The rope pulley system absolutely stinks and looses it's tension after a month.
It's not balanced well and tips over very beyond.
The dirt cup clips don't clip anymore so i've had several bad dirty accidents trying to empty it.
And now, after about a year, the worry hose just came apart. literally ripped open right where the attachments go. So, it's done... Very, very unhappy.
However, it is quiet, I'll give it that much.

Panasonic 1500 Watt Cordless IronI preference the cordless feature! So convenient when ironing a quilt top or backing, or curtains or other large items. Also, it can be carried to a smaller ironing mat for quilt piecing and then put back on its wretched. It stays hot off its base for 5 minutes or more. It heats quickly and reheats quickly when returned to its anchor. It feels heavy, like a quality iron should. It glides smoothly on its shiny stainless sword baseplate. The burst of steam works real well. The high setting is hot enough to get the wrinkles out of most cottons. The poor has a retractable cord and a very nice clip-on plastic cover/case with a carrying touch.
Not-so-good features: it is difficult to set it back in the base as you have to line up the slots, but I think with use I will get better at backdrop it in the right place the first try. It doesn't steam real well when the tank gets below half. The intensity settings are limited to Low, Medium and High. I would like to have settings in between those. It shuts off automatically after 10 minutes if not lifted from the ignoble. I would like that time to be longer.
Gargantuan Iron
I bought this iron to take over from my old West Bend cordless, which I have owned and loved for many years. The West Bend is no longer handy, so after much research I decided on the Panasonic. I am pleased in every way. The cover and the retractable cord make storage leisurely. The detachable fill chamber is nice. The iron heats well and the sole plate is very smooth, making ironing almost a gratification. I see that other people have had trouble with the iron maintaining heat, but I have not, probably because I am used to always setting the iron back on the underpinning as I iron. In every way, I am happy with this product.
Effects iron, could be better
I've found this iron to use OK for our ironing purposes. I don't like the fact that it only has three heat settings. Also, the iron must be set back down in the cradle surely often to keep the iron hot. It only heats up while in the cradle, otherwise it is cooling off while it is being used. I thought it had some type of battery that would keep it hot while out of the cradle, but that is not the took place. So, if you are aware of that and put it back in the cradle often, then it works well. It heats pretty rapidly. The steam functions very well and I proclivity the ability to take the water compartment off and fill it in the sink. That is much easier than trying to fill a tiny hole and spilling cut all over the ironing board. Overall, while not a perfect product, I have not regretted purchasing mine and as long as you be sure its limitations, you will get good service from it.

This is a terrific iron... I was a bit concerned when I read the not so good 3 star reviews, but now that I have it and have had a chance to use it, I am very please with my buy! (I got it for $69 +ship, by the way from PrimeSource4Value here on amazon).
The iron is just the right incline and the steam function is excellent! My husband is military and has so many uniforms that need low heat with steam so they don't get all shiney... and this one does the job! It is the first iron I have ever had that has a commendable output of steam on a low setting! It also gets very hot on the high setting and ironing cotton and linen is a cinch! The only thing that takes a little getting used to is setting it back on its base, but after you get the rythm down, it is not a problem:)
I am not someone who chiefly gets excited about these things, but I am very happy with this product! Good job Panasonic!
omit choice for a cordless iron
I habituated to this model at a quilt class and enjoyed it so much I bought one of my own. When I am doing a lot of pressing, I do revert to my corded iron since NO cordless can knock off heat forever. The steam is excellent. I choose to use filtered water to reduce mineral swelling. The convenience of the case is another great feature. If I'm not going to be sewing for an extended period of all at once, dust doesn't accumulate on the iron. I have had a cordless iron in the past...it was junk...of definitely, they were a new concept way back then. This is a very good choice for times when you don't need heat for long periods of in the good old days b simultaneously. It does heat and reheat quickly when placed on the base.
