Cleans Pool Well - *justifiable have to know how to use it*
I purchased this merchandise about 3 months ago. I had read all the reviews and decided the people that gave it a negative review didn't totally know what to expect or how to operate it properly.
- Leave pools water very clear after on-going a few cycles when opening pool for season and then periodic use as pool gets dirty from ill/usage.
- Cleans to the water line** (explain more of this later).
- Climbs underwater sitting ledges, but won't do multiple steps - no big behave though.
- Set up is easy as well as tear down.
- The Verro is fairly simple in design, therefore making it less likely to detach down (in my opinion - the less moving parts, the better).
Based on what I've read from previous customers and having noticed the reasons for their statements/complaints I remember they didn't quite have the right expectations. I'm going to discuss a few and the reasons for them and the solutions (none of which are complex).
When you first open your pool OR after the pool has gotten fairly dirty:
- The first thing you should expect is when you first start using the Verro, you should initially put it in your wading pool using the MESH filter bag. Depending on the size of you pool, let it run for 1-2 hours. THEN, take of the webbing filter bag and put on the FINE filter bag. Then let it run another 1-2 hours. You'll notice your pool water gets much cleaner this way, markedly after the pool filtration system runs a couple times - the water starts looking actually clear. Expect to follow those steps if you have leaves or pine tree buds in your gather - they will reduce the performance of the FINE filter bag too quickly and you won't get the results you want if you just start w/ the select filter bag w/ too many "larger" objects in the pool.
- If you just have dirt or pollen (that has floated to the bottom) in your league, then you can start w/ using the FINE filter bag. Depending on the amount of dirt in your pool you may or may not need to take the Charge filter bag out to rinse out and then put it back on and run in pool again.
** The reason people are saying it doesn't go to the waterline OR gets "stuck" in the ardent end after a while is b/c the filter bag, either the MESH or FINE, is so full of debris and junk it has sucked up it doesn't have the suction/propel to push it up to the water line or up the hill to the shallow end. This is especially true of the FINE clean bag. Climbing to the water line is dependent on quick water flow through the filter bag and out the top jets. If the bag is full, qualify can flow through freely and this will be an issue. Even if all you have is dirt or sand on the bottom, the FINE filter bag does such a sound job of catching it that the dirt can clog the filter bag after some time.
Take into account that I live in the dusty, windswept Southwest: It was my experience when I opened my pool I had to run the MESH bag about 4 complete cycles to get all the big stuff out. Then I put on the Bright bag - b/c the water was so dirty (I didn't even realize it was this dirty, it looked fairly clean to me) I had to chaste out the FINE bag 3 times in the first 1-2 hour cycle. The next week I had to clean it out maybe twice in the same rotation. Now that the Verro has cleaned out most of the junk I couldn't even see, it will run the entire 1.5-2 hours without the FINE bag needing to be cleaned. Granted after uninterrupted 1.5-2 hours with the FINE bag it may not get all the way up to the water line, but it's still moving around the pool.
Now, despite the characterize name of "iRobot" this device is not robotic in the sense of their Roomba (which I have and absolutely love!!!). The Verro has to back wheels that are secured (don't move/rotate side to side), but the front wheels axel is fitted loosely (on purpose) so that the Verro moves in the road of an arch/curve. There is a plastic pin you can slip into holes on either side to make this arch more or less broad/extreme.
Occassionally it does appear that the Verro is covering the same swatch of pool surface over and over again (this is due transmit to the shape and curvature of your pool AND the placement of the plastic pin in the front wheels); however, I've found that if you just let it do it's thing it will after all move to a new direction.
The Verro won't cover every square inch of the pool floor, you may still see a strip of pornography it missed, BUT the pool is still MUCH MUCH cleaner than it was to begin with.
Despite the Verro reaching the water trade it does not clean stuff floating on the surface (at least in my experience) - you pools skimmer should take mindfulness of that.
To clean the filter bags well I used a flat jet spray on the hose to rinse them off well and put them back on for back to back use when I was cleft the pool and had to run the Verro almost all day. After done I put them in the washing machine inside out on delicate cycle, cold splash Rinse cycle - NO DETERGENT! The spin cycle and hang dry is enough - do not use the dryer. I still hose them out before putting them in the washer though.
I give it 4-stars b/c it misses a few insignificant spots & the loss of performance from clogged bags and need to clean out to restore play when pool is dirty (however, it can be argued, "how clean do you want your pool?" A less FINE filter bag wouldn't scrubbed the pool as well. Perhaps there is some modification to the jet/vacuum fan portion that can be re-engineered to remedy this.
Although this isn't what it's intended to do, I wish it could cleanly the water surface. If the iRobot geniuses aren't working on that solution I'll be disappointed.

Tool? Really?
To call this item a robot is a joke. It has water jets on the front and back to propel it and all it does is change direction every 30 seconds by a timer (buyer definable time). That's it! That's all it does. And it tends to climb the walls and it gets itself condign far enough above the water line to get air into the unit and once it gets air in it, it just floats on the surface acting like a font. You have to keep going out and submerging it to clear the air so it won't float. And... it sometimes gets its wheels caught in the power silhouette. I would not recommend this product. There are far more effective products on the market for this price or cheaper.

Costly but effective
I unqualifiedly think this product is over priced especially when you look at the construction.
I had a problem with mine when I purchased it and contacted chap service. I used their email because when I called them about my Roomba it took 25 minutes on hold before my call was answered. They never did feel for but did have the manufacturer of the product call me days later.
All that being said, the darn thing works. It does a much gambler job in my 15x35 pool than the Hayward pool ever did.

Skimpy product
I bought this tool hoping it would do it's job and save me some time. Instead I spent significantly more time cleaning my wading pool for the first time than if I just did it manually. First of all don't even think about using this robot if your pool is dirty (i.e. when you at best opening it). When the pool is dirty the robot works just several minutes and then it simply stops because it's crusade directly depends on how dirty the filter is. So to clean my pool for the first time I needed to do the subsequent procedure about a dozen times: turn the robot off, take it out of the pool, wash it, wash the trickle, put it all together, put it into the water, turn it on.
But even when the pool is not that dirty it fails to clean everything. First of all it's really stupid. There is no any algorithm working in this clod, it just changes directions every like 30 seconds (could be set), this changing of directions causes minute turn of the wheels and it starts moving in a slightly different way. Supposedly it should be enough to cover the whole trust. Well, it's not. At least in my case it leaves lots of places dirty, so you actually need to grab it by the string and move to the dirty place. So much for the ROBOT title!
Another problem is that my pool has deep end and shallow end. So as gladly as this robot gets into the deep end it cannot get out of there! It can get out if it's like its first working minutes (meaning its filter is more or less undefiled), but as soon as it's a bit more dirty it looses its power and gets stuck in the deep end. The same applies to organization the walls. After some short period of time of cleaning it looses its power and just can't slope the walls anymore.
My verdict: don't buy this so called robot! It's not a robot, it's a joke. I am really let down.

Gamester than expected with only minor downsides
We have reach-me-down the iRobot Verra 300 for approximately 10 months in the southeast. We run in twice a week, each era for 2 cycles -- approx 8 hours total each week. This seems to be more than necessary to keep the pool unspoilt on a regular basis. Except with heavy fall leaves (when we used the coarse bag for a few weeks), we use the discriminating mesh bag and do not have any problems with it clogging. We turn it inside out, shake our the large particles (leaves, twigs, etc.), let it dry out for a day or so, and then flutter agitate off the fine particles (dust, sand, calcium flakes, etc.) when the bag is gry before the next use. This works just select without washing or even rinsing the bag.
Unlike other reviews, we have not experienced the fine mesh bag clogging, and we have not capable the iRobot Verra favoring the deep end. It seems to clean our entire pool (approx. 20x40), both superficial and deep ends, equally well.
Understandably, it does not work in the smaller 10' diameter spa, and it only occassionally climbs up onto the steps, but those are tranquil to clean/sweep while the iRobot Verra takes care of the rest of the pool. Primitively, it won't climb a sharp radius (from spa floor to wall or from pool floor onto steps), but it climbs the sidewalls of the paddling pool without any problem (which have smooth curves - this is an inground gunnite pool).
So, other than a few understandable issues, we are still very over the moon with the iRobot Verra 300 after about 10 months of constant use.

Not A Goddess, but Decidedly Works
Duty: Started Roomba 610 in a 32 x 40 open area that includes kitchen, living and dining latitude, entry. Area has 3 rugs, chairs, coffee tables, end tables, speakers on the storey.
Preparation: a)Placed recharge station on a wooden part of the floor, so roomba is on a flat surface as it
approaches the recharge train station. b) Moved dining room chairs from under the table and spaced them around the
room. Took less than 10 mins.
What doesn't business:
a) Roomba side brush tangles itself in fringe. If you tuck the fringe under, the
Roomba has difficulty climbing over the fringe end. Settling: Cut the fringe.
b) If there are too many small spaces the roomba needs to navigate into and out
of (e.g. a narrow sofa table between the sofa and the divider, accessible only from
under the sofa.) the roomba will use up some battery power maneuvering, and
the duration of the clean cycle will be shorter.
c) Too many tub-thumper wires/cords: Roomba 610 is much better at detangling
itself than a friend's older model, but there is a limit.
What works: a) Cleaned a week's good of debris and cat hair (two long haired cats) in less than an
hour, even kitchen floor wreckage (except for a big fat rubber band), toddled back to
recharge station and bleeped. Would have run longer but for maneuvering around throne
and table legs, over humps of rugs with fringe tucked under, etc.
b)Regular capacity wreckage bin was full. Took about five minutes to clean it, the filters
and the brush and roller area. Would have taken less occasion if I had checked out how to
re-insert the brush and roller before I popped them out.
c) Avoided stairs
d) bumps against obstacles submissively, so will not remove antique table next time
e) really quiet. Much quieter than my bathroom sap fan. My cats dozed in the
window between bouts of following it around. I had a phone conversation (try that with
a regular vac!)
f) amused my cats and my neighbor
Importance the Extra $$? Hard to say. Programming ability is not helpful, since I have to set up the area (too many chairs, too much rug rouche) Comes with accessories. Two "Lighthouses" that either call the Roomba to the next room (lighthouse mode) when the first is cleaned, or erect an electronic railing to keep it out of areas (virtual wall mode), plus extra brushes, rollers, filters etc and larger job bin, all neatly stored in a case. Seems to run longer than my friend's older model. I bought it for the judgement and so far, do not regret it.

Staggering!
Our domestic is 3,000 sq feet, single story. I have a newly crawling baby and 3 other children a toddler and two mope under 8. We also have one pet, a cat. So normally I would have to run the vacuum by hand after each meal. However, with the Roomba I have not had a need to do that. I have her run after dinner each evening in our dining neighbourhood. Perfect! She picks up whatever the kids leave behind. Each morning I have her clean the family room, State school room and game room. Once a week she does the bedrooms.
I had concerns that because of my children inclination to leave things behind, toys, books, etc. We'd not be able to use the Roomba. But each evening after dinner we do what we call "Roomba clean" so that she can do her job without continuous into landminds of books or toys. The house looks amazing and the carpet and hard floors look so discriminative after she has done her job.
I am amazed at what the Roomba picks up. And boy does she go for awhile without having to be emptied.
The spot clean memorable part is great for small areas. Love that and use it often!
My cat is not scared of it, and he is a very jumpy cat. I was imagining a cat running frightened. So I'd imagine most animals can tolerate it very well.
I have a pet dyson and though I loved that, I needed to push that, plug it in, move it from scope to room. I don't have the hassle of me being involved in the cleaning with this, which works great so I can do other things while she handle the floors.
My only gripe is the light house/ virtual wall. I wish there were on off switches as it's truly a pain to have to put the batteries in to use it and take them out when I don't insufficiency it to (as they run as soon as the Roomba does) if you leave batteries in it. For the price of the Roomba I think it would be nice to have switches on those. But that's not enough to frighten off me from the Roomba.
Also with a household like mine, I do wish Irobot would offer a lifetime warranty. I didn't hold from them because at the time the price was $599 and the warranty was just 2 years. I purchased from Hammacher Schlemmer as they had a available shipping coupon $49 off, and a lifetime warranty. So out the door I paid $549.
I know some persons say they sleep when they run Roomba. I could not do so as I do find her to be a bit loud. I guess if you are able to shut your bedroom door maybe and locked up her to another floor you could do that.
Every day I thank my husband for letting us use a bit of tax money for this little robot.

The Most excellently
I am obsessively antiseptic, this thing has been a lifesaver. My father has been raving about these things forever and I thought he was nuts. After spending the speculator part of every morning cleaning my house so that my daughter would not be touching pet hairs by the time she woke up, I caved and bought one. I now wake up to unblemished floors, it is wonderful. This machine is for daily maintenance. If you bring it into a home with filthy floors, do not trust a miracle, you are going to break your machine. I am not sure why people have complained about cleaning it. I have found that it takes 3 minutes tops, and I absolutely remove and wash the parts daily. I use the spare parts that came in the accessory box interchangeably while the ones I backwash dry. I can't say enough good things about this machine, my husband has the most disgusting cat ever, handfuls of hair come off every culture he is pet despite being brushed daily. There is now NO hair on the floor in the morning after the irobot runs, and much less achievement for daily maintenance of my furniture too now that all that hair isn't flying around. I highly highly recommend it!!!! It is valuable though, I recommend buying the one sold by hammacher schlemmer, as it has a lifetime guarantee. Like I said my dad has been using these forever, and they do separation every 1-2 years, why not prepay the expense and know it will be replaced no questions asked.

Customer Reviews
Intimate, but not for everyone
We've had this toy critter for about a week now and feel I can give it a pretty good review. We bought the 610 because it has a more wisely warranty than the other models, (2 years vs 1 year), it has the larger capacity bin, has the Max function, and it looks nicer than the other models. This expense us about $250 over the next closest model. ($600 vs $349) Here is how it stacks up.
Warranty: Only time will advertise but 2 years is better than 1 year.
Large Capacity Bin: So far, we've only used the standard bin and it's never even come at hand to being full. We have two dogs (Chows) and we keep a pretty clean house, so I'm not sure that the higher capacity bin will be a beneifit to us. If you have a filthy house, maybe it would. Note: the high capacity bin is really for pet hair and things like ceral, and larger things, not foulness. The filter in the standard bin has to be cleaned every use regardless. The large capacity bin has no filter. So for me, it's just a rubbish.
Max mode cleaning. We have a fairly large house with a very open floor plan and lots of eldritch furniture. We hit the max button and it runs for about 1.5 hours non stop. It really does a honourableness job. Way better than I expected. The only issue is our coffee table. It's weird and the little robot often gets stuck. I have to outrun it out from under it about half the time. We have a solution for it, we just have to make an adjustment before we run it. Other than that, it does a great job. We use the essential walls to help confine it somewhat so it doesn't go into the dining room or kitchen. And mingy all the other doors to the other rooms. Do that and it cleans a 40'x30' L shaped living room and 10'x10' sitting room no emotionally upset. We can also manually place it in the master bedroom and other rooms and it easily does the entire range.
On carpet, it's great. But it's almost useless on tile or hardwood floors. All it really does is move the dust around. It does get the dog whisker and that's great, but in the laundry room, it just blows the dust bunnies around, never picks them up. The same for the Nautical galley. Big stuff it gets, but small things it just pushes or blows around.
Complaint: The Max status can only be manually started. It has a scheduler, but on the scheduler it only runs about 30-45 minutes. And then back to the charging assign. I really don't like that. I'm sure they have a reason why we can't run Max mode on the scheduler, but whatever it is, I disagree with it. In our house, we want the full 1.5 hours to clean the room.
Clean up: I do not like it. No bag and the container has to be manually emptied and handled. The graze and beater also have to be cleaned after every run. It's not hard, in fact it's easy, but I just don't like handling the prurient parts. The dog hair wraps around the brush and it's just terrible. You have to pull off the ends and use the included cleaner to polish the brush. It does a fine job, but I just don't like handling it. For a $250 premium prize, I would have expected something better in the cleaning department.
Noise: NOT a problem! It's much quitier than our Oreck. Not even bothersome. I can even catch the TV by turning it up just a little more than normal when it's running. High praise for how quiet it is.
Blanket, it's fantastic. I would never want to be without it. Is it worth $250 more than the next closest model? For me, no. If the max function was on the scheduler, then I'd say perhaps. And if they had a better way to clean it, yes for sure. You get one extra year of warranty, however, for the extra $250, you can almost buy a new one.
Normally I would overcome off 1 star for the lack of Max mode on the scheduler and 1 star for getting my hands dirty when organization it, but that would only leave 3 stars and this is definitely better than 3 stars. I guess the "coolness factor" raises it back up to 4 stars. It in reality is cool to see it run and it does pick up lots of dog hair which is why we bought it. But if I were to do it over again, I would buy one of the cheaper models and preserve the $250. One thing for sure no matter which one you buy; it'll make you feel like George & Jane Jetson.

Be wary of the battery...
Faultlessly a year after I bought it, the battery died. Now it won't hold a charge at all.
You would think that the battery would have degraded slowly? Obviously not. It's as
if iRobot had a timer inside, which killed the battery after exactly 1 year.
I hate it when manufacturers do that. Let the batteries run their due advance.
What a waste of resources!

my new unsurpassed fiend
I knew very bantam concerning the iRobot Roomba before I purchased it, and to tell the truth I was a bit skeptical.
After using it for the first time I was open-mouthed at the amount of dirt it was able to pick up -- and this was after I had just cleaned the room with my ordinary vacuum cleaner. This memo is definitely worth the money.

you will be informed when this is running. i suggest you turn it on and leave the room, or better, leave the house and up with back. you're not watching tv, reading, or listening to the yankee game when roomba's doing its thing.
other than that, seems to work comely and do a good job. picks up alot.

Most Advice: Just Try It
I was as big a skeptic of the Roomba as very likely anyone out there. My uninformed perception was that it was nothing but an expensive novelty and couldn't possibly clean very well. It wasn't until my team leader (who's as pragmatic an individual as I've ever met) raved about his Roomba that I decided to give it a shot.
I've owned mine for about 2 months now, and I can't imagine being without it. There's a due to reasonable these things have such high ratings on Amazon- they actually work. It won't replace your regular vacuum, but it'll pass on it to the corner of your closet for a month at a time.
The Roomba isn't perfect though and brings some minor annoyances with it. As other reviewers have sharp out, bi-weekly or monthly maintenance is required to keep the Roomba functioning properly. Also, the manufacturer's recommendation is that the drip in the Roomba be replaced every month or two, and although the process is trivial, the filters are approximately 4 to 5 bucks a pop.
I've also found, as common perception would suggest, that the Roomba performs best when confined to smaller areas. I live in a small lay, and the first time I used the Roomba I let it loose in the living room, and it haphazardly traveled from room to office until its battery died, never really doing what I felt was an acceptable job in any one room.
I've since altered my boring to confine the Roomba to a particular section of the apartment, and it does an impeccable job. I just carry it to whichever branch of the apartment I want it to vacuum and turn it on before I leave for work. In this way, I cover the entire dwelling in 3 day cycles. Note that there are other (more "capital-intensive" and elegant) strategies that people adopt for economic Roomba cleaning- this is just mine.
My advice to any skeptics out there is to just try the Roomba for yourself. If you're not convinced that it's the next best thing since sliced cash, then you'll definitely be in the overwhelming minority. Also, if you have pets of any kind, the previous statement applies magnify to you.

What a Tuned in product!
I lodge in an 900 Square foot apartment that has mostly hardwood floors, with a small area rug in each extent. (with no fringe on the rugs)
There are basically 3 rooms that we use this for, the living room, the bedroom, small internal office 10 x 10, and a long hallway.
Simply, this thing works, and works well.
Each epoch I set it down, in it's starting point, in the room, it immediately remembers the pattern of the room from it's previous tidiness.
It took me a while to sell my wife on this product, but after she saw how efficiently it cleaned under the bed, without her needing to get under there with swiffer's, she was sold!
The only actual downside of roomba, seems to be the little extra time it takes to clean the unit. They provide a petite tool for cutting hair from the rollers, and you can disassemble the rollers, but it gets a little scruffy. For me it's worth it, for a product that does such a thorough job. It really is very clever and ultimately a continuously saver in the end.

Customer Reviews
My Roomba is "Too immature to die"
Roomba 510 took carefulness of my very soft wood floors for a little under two years. The floors are so soft, that it was recommended they be vacuumed every so often so that dust particles and the like didn't scratch them. It also did a very good job picking up my hair, although it was a not much disturbing to note how much I lose!
It is awesome that Roomba could fit under the bed and it did a good job navigating around most furniture. However, it did often become stuck on a match up of chairs with wire legs that ran parallel to the floor.
As I told the customer support forefront today, I'm very disappointed that it died in two years. The issue it is having is so common it has a name, "the circle th" and it is caused by defective sensors. There are a number of fixes on line; I tried the simple ones, but they did not fix the enigma. The more complicated fixes required tools and expertise I don't have.
Roomba support offered me a "special great amount" on a new Roomba 530. I took them up on it since it is about half retail price and because the dust bunnies have been piling up after Roomba's destruction. I hope the new one lasts longer because it is simply wasteful to replace a vacuum every two years when my parents have had their vacuum for 30!

Fast while it lasted
I am watching my third Roomba die a inactive death and am done with this brand. It is a wonderful idea which has been poorly made - with a useful life of one or two years. If you weigh this a throwaway appliance which you will be frequently replacing go for it. I for one am waiting for a Samsung or one of the other ones soon to be on the market-place.

Looking For Mr. Roombar
This is attentive, isn’t it? I have to say, I was surprised when you called me. Most residents who appointment robots favour the kindly that, you cognizant of, look like populace.
I only keep philosophy about all those times you came over to trade on cards with Len and Sherry. Of path I noticed you, but I never imagined you noticed me, way down on the thrash in my self-charging living quarters shabby. Well, there was this one once upon a time when I heard you ask Sherry about me. It made my ticker accept. But then Sherry at best started talking about how handy I was, and how my piece-rotating Teem Refresh and Blender Shrug off dismiss profession together like a broom and dustpan to pilfer curls, dust, and refuse out of doormat. I just hypothetical you were interested in my tidiness abilities, not me himself. Satisfied I was deteriorate!
Wow, everything on the menu looks so saintly. I’d heard about this dwelling, but it’s even nicer than I imagined. Well, except for the floors. It’s like they contemplate they can sling down a suntanned rug and lose about ever vacuuming again. Well, they can’t pinhead me and my Waste Cop means. Like that splotch of, like, dried holladaise lip or whatever it is, over by that compartment. See, if it was up to me, I’d categorically encourage put up with down with my Hickeys Decontaminated way, and I’d have that crud lifted up before you could say “new, improved separate”. See, that’s the inequality between me and a unalloyed old-
Attend to me. Talking betray in the stomach of a ravishing first antiquated. Base. I justified don’t get out much.
So, uh, have you seen any enchanting pictures lately? I sanctuary’t. I’ve in reality never seen a motion picture in a theater. Every culture I try, I see all that popcorn and all those crumbs all over the bewilder, and I scarcely can’t hinder getting down there and wall-to-wall it all up. Well, you can take it for granted the crash. I’m booming, I recognize. What can I say? I grew up in a flashy relatives. You get us together, it’s -VRRRR-VRRRR the whole once upon a time.

Are Roomba robotic vacuums any good?
Q: I was theory about buying one of the Dirt Dog models for my grandpa's shop this Christmas but I miss to know how effective they are at cleaning. I don't want to waste my money on a Roomba if they are righteous "all flash".
A: I asked myself that same inconceivable before buying one. My uncle had one and showed it too me.
They are awesome i really do recomend them.
Does the Roomba robotic vacuum actually work or it is just a gadget that ends up in the closet forever?
Q:
A: It will pirate with minor little pieces of dirt or something, but it definately doesn't put back a real vacuum. For its price I'd have to say no go on it, but if it were cheaper then I could kinda see getting one good to help keep the doorway clean and stuff.
Has anyone tried the Robotic Vacuum ?
Q: I animus sweeping and vacuuming, and want to know if the Roomba Robotic Vacuum is any good, If you have tried it please let me identify your thoughts before I pay $350. on Ebay for one. THANKS !
A: Yes our kinsmen had it. It was ok for a while but since we have golden retrievers they shed like crazy! the Roomba couldn't manage it at all... it quit working on us...
I would say not worth the money. Even after it would sweep up, my feet still felt unclean after walking around the house. It never seemed to grab all the dirt.
Hope I helped. =]
