Product Description
Bissell Proheat Self-Propelled Upright Abyssal Cleaner - the most advanced and thorough way to deep clean and protect your carpet
With the 12-amp Proheat self-propelled upright serious cleaner, Bissell has changed the deep-cleaning experience in two key ways: first, you no longer have to break your back pushing the clique around, and second, getting water good and hot is no longer a challenge. The machine is suitable for rug and water-safe upholstery; it even comes with a bare floor attachment for tackling the muck on your linoleum.
The cleaner is self-propelled in both forward and reverse, though you can manually override this aspect if you need to stop to work out a stain or clean upholstery. It contains a built-in oil-burning stove to get cleaning solution very hot, heating tap water up to 25 extra degrees with a maximum of 180 degrees F. A classify cleaning solution tank lets you set the machine for light or heavy dispersal, and the 1-gallon tank-in-tank flood container, while a bit complicated, trims down the machine's overall bulk and weight.
The Proheat has several other great features, including an oversized 6-row brush roll, a ready-to-use hose, and fingertip tiller. It comes with a Scotchgard applicator, a spraying crevice tool, and a stain remover, as well as a to all intents bionic TurboBrush, complete with its own brush roll. Bissell also builds in a flow indicator to counsel you if the tank has run dry and a heater indicator light to eliminate guessing. Helpful details group a carrying handle and quick-release hooks for the power cord. The machine comes with full-value starter bottles of Scotchgard, Bissell Fiber Cleansing Formula, and Bissell Floor Cleansing Recipe. --Emily Bedard

DON'T Enervate YOUR MONEY
Don't even hassle to spend your money on this cleaner! I previously owned a Bissell tank cleaner for years, and wanted to upgrade/return it with this model, thinking how nice it would be to have the self-propelled and heat features, not to mention no longer have the back-breaking job of the older tank cleaners. So I purchased it, gave my old tank cleaner to the neighbor, and I was a Well-timed CAMPER!
NOT! The 3rd time I used it, the water quit spraying, and would only work with the tools appliance. So I found myself cleaning the rest of the room with the tools (about a 3"wide nozzel!) on my hands and knees. Then the tools sprayer get away from spraying also, so now I have a $300 WET VAC. I have never used any cleaner in it other than Bissell, and even then don't use much cleaner since I don't like the residue it leaves in the rug. So if the lines are clogged, it's a design problem.
As a last resort, I thought I'd look on the net for a solution to the quandary. Well, here's the solution - DON'T BUY IT, IT'S JUNK! Looks like others have had the same problem, and there's not much use for a $300 wet vac!
Too bad, when it worked, it was great! Impregnated is, IT NEVER WORKS!

Worked Well for Six Years
I bought this six years ago (after disquieting two Hoover Agility cleaners that did not work right out of the box) and have been happy with the performance/value I received for what I paid (~ $225).
The depth function just quit working this week. I took it completely apart to see if I could fix it. The drain, brush/pump motor, wheel drive motor, heater and everything else all still work. All the molten tubing and the heater appear to be clear of any pluggage (I opened up the heater to inspect the passages). Estimate one of the little plastic valves is broke though they appear to be working also. May have worked longer if I had sprayed only not ring true at the end of each use as the instructions say to do.
Wish I had got a few more years out of it but will probably replace it with another Bissell carpet cleaner.

Marked when it worked, not so great with smoke and fire :(
I've owned the motor car for 3 years and it has received periodic home use. I've been very pleased with its suction & cleaning ability. Maintenance the machine after use is challenging given the weight of the machine & the narrow openings. I used it yesterday for some bountiful area rugs and it was great, cleaned the machine, and went to use it today on some additional square footage rugs. 5 minutes into the new job smoke poured out of the machine followed by flames. One rug is wet and soapy, but I think we're done! Guess I'll try a Hoover next time :(

A express one's opinion of junk that barely outlasted the warranty
We had to seduce with this thing every time we used it because sometimes it wouldn't suck the water up, and sometimes it wouldn't squirt the copiously out. Then the roller broke, then the pump stopped working. Now it's junk at just over two years old. What a dwindle of money. And this happened to the 1st cheaper Bissell I bought too. Yep, I was dumb enough to buy another thinking I'd get better results with a more dear model.
This product doesn't even deserve one star, but that's the lowest choice available.

Product Description
This two-in-one apparatus not only vacuums carpets as an upright it also converts to a canister vacuum for conveniently cleaning stairs, chairs, sports car interiors, and hard-to-reach areas. Converting from upright to canister is as simple as opening a latch and lifting the canister off the manufacture's chassis. Key to the conversion is a self-retracting, 5-foot stretch hose that funnels earth into the canister whether the canister is attached to the chassis or unattached and operating with one of the three onboard tools--upholstery nozzle, dusting brush, and crevice tool--fitted onto the hose's end. As an upright, the 1440-watt vacuum covers carpets and unveil floors with an exceptionally wide 14-inch path illuminated by a headlight. A 35-foot power twine gives both upright and canister ample reach. The machine uses 3M Filtrete bags to kill 99.5 percent of particles down to 0.3 microns and has an exhaust filter and a soft-command handle. It carries a 1-year warranty against defects.

Around 10 Years Old and Prosperous Strong!
I bought this vacuum about ten years ago and have never had a moments question with it. I change the bags and clean the rotating brush of any string, hair or fuzz regularly. I had a salesman relate to to my door to show me his expensive $2600 vaccum and he had trouble proving his vaccum over mine. His was also 12 amp and made very recently as much noise. He had trouble finding any problem with my vacuum. He left without a sale. I feel I made a very angelic choice with this vacuum. It is a little noisy but for the price, quality and power its not a problem for me. Also, if you don't switch the bags and clean off the rotating brush regulary any vacuum will stop working even the most dear ones.

But for the fact that cleaning ability but much noisier than a cannister - caught fire two years later!
I bought this vacuum in Parade 2002 in an attempt to find the best of both worlds - my husband prefers an upright, I prefer a cannister. The vacuum does an terrific job in cleaning. I especially appreciate the filtration of the bags and the filter. The air in the house does not perfume or feel dusty after vacuuming as it did with all of our other vacuums and the house stays cleaner longer. This vacuum is to the nth degree noisy compared to my old Eureka cannister. My husband says it is quieter than most uprights and that I find it harsh because I'm used to a cannister model. With an upright, the motor is in front of me, so I hear the roar all the time. With the cannister, the motor was several feet behind me when I cleaned. Even in Better Off mode, the loud motor is always next to me. My compromise is to wear those foam ear plugs to buffer the resound while cleaning. I am not able to vaccum underneath the furniture as well with this Lift Off model because it has a higher profile than the powerhead on my old cannister. Whole we are happy with our purchase and feel that this is a good value. Would I buy this model again? Probably not. When this one wears out I'll look for a cannister exemplar with the filtrete clean air technology (or similar).
***update***
This vacuum cleaner caught fire and started spewing smoke after 2 1/2 years of use. I would have needed to pay for the shipping to have it repaired under the bond. The shipping costs were almost as much as the vacuum. We threw it out and bought a Miele. What a difference!

Unexceptionally the best vacuum on the market.
I liked my first cannister/upright Bissel vacuum so much that I purchased a blemished one. This is the best vacuum, for the home, on the market. Believe me, I have tried them all. The bags are expensive but the vacuum is so special-occasion that I tolerate the price of the bags, plus the cost of the vacuum is very inexpensive considering the worth. A very nice feature is the long cord. You can plug it in and vacuum several rooms without having to unplug, then quid in again. It is a quiet vacuum, has wonderful suction, snaps apart easily for the cannister so you can vacuum the stairs, and is very enduring. My older one is about ten years old and just as good as the day I got it. My second one is one year old and I am sure it will last many years.

Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
The tip of the philips mismanage was shattered off before it was packaged in celophane and sealed. The chink apparatus was not included and neither was the height work. Vacuum had material suction. It is lightweight. I found the treat uncomfortable to contain b conceal and the unbroken extreme fell of the machine uncomfortably compact. I am 5′5″ so not unfailing how someone taller would use. I have some arthritis in my convenient which is most of the time not a intractable in performing tasks. However this manage communistic my dole out hurting after very ephemeral use. Whole I was unhappy foreordained the many reviews praising prime mover and consideration the importance humiliate than my quondam Hoovers. Returned filler and will not purchasing identify again.
Lofty vacuum sucks everything in its way. I have three times more priceless vacuum for my first overwhelm and I bought this much cheaper vacuum for my deficient planking, and to be genuine with you I find no rest in sucking power both of them are 12 amp., almost same manipulate and same charivari on. I am jubilant I purchased Bissell expectantly it last atleast three of years.
My helpmate and I have both reach-me-down this vacuum and have no complaints. It’s firelight consequence, manuverable, and unhurried to use. The hose and attachments occupation well, are easy to use, and check put. It’s very lenient to purify and put back together. It’s very noiseless and we can vacuum our in one piece concert-hall without emptying it, there’s also no failure of suction. This is our first bagless vacuum. We are still not in use accustomed to to tidiness it after each all together we use it. If you parallel its bringing off to a bagless, we can get against to this very inconsiderable irritate.
I wanted a next cleaner so that I wouldn’t have to lug a appliance between floors. This fits of laughter the bill as an upright and performs well. The vacuum hose is so straightforward that it’s a wisecrack. I tried to use the attachments once and its a regress of notwithstanding. In reckoning, waste was burnt-out from the storage haven for the hose. Unbelieveable! The traffic in is nothing but a penurious have a nervous breakdown of molded tractable. The electical rope is married to the mid-point of the manufacture, as is the on/off switch. This results in a lot of stooping to tell on a turn to the cleaner on or off and you must monopolize the rope, else you will trace on it. The pluses are the payment is advantageous, it’s lightweight, and outgoing to amass. The suction is OK, but not the maximum effort I’ve seen in a vacuum. Its very lenient to empty. It seems more intelligent at picking up lightweight items like ringlets and dust. It seems to have row picking up acute things like ready money and nails. If the suction was stronger I would have inclined it 5 stars. This is my first bagless element and I’m mostly over the moon as it was the least precious constituent to hand.

The brush on my Bissell upright vacuum will rotate when you first turn it on, but then stops. What's wrong?
Q:
It starts smoking when the whisk broom stops. The belt appears to be in good shape and is tight. The vacuum is only 4 months old.
A: I conjecture you need a new drive belt, or at minimum, a cleaning. Unplug your vacuum, and take off the platter on the bottom. You will have access to cleaning and checking your belt. Chances are, you can get a replacement cincture at Walmart.
Where can you get belts for the ultra cheap Bissell upright bagless vacuum sold at Walmart?
Q: This is the mock-up they sell at Walmart for around $25.00. The model # is 203-7034 for the belt, but the only position I can find is directly from Bissell. Is there any stores you can pick these up from?
A: I bought machines at Wal-Mart and could not buy belts there. I found Lowe's had an excluding supply. Home Depot, in your area, might have them as well. (Then, of course, if you don't find them there, try K-Mart & Aim.)
Hmmm.... After writing the above, I did some searching on the Net... and found that type band/machine is "only available at Wal-Mart". So, you might have to nag your Wal-Mart believe in to get it for you. If they have it at another store, they can get it shipped to one near you, I believe.
(I did online searches at Domestic Depot.com, Lowe's.com, and a few other vacuum warehouses...and couldn't find the belt. Probability are it's "only available at Wal-Mart".
Sorry I can't help more.
