Want time Dyson owner
I bought my Dyson Being in the spring of 05, that's right, FIVE years ago. And it's still just as good as the day I bought it. I've never had a vacuum last as sustained as this one has, and of course I credit that to the quality of the product, but I'll tell you what has kept mine working like new for so great.
Once every six months to a year (I have two small kids, so it depends on my time constraints), I pull the whole feature apart. I take the canister apart (very easy to do) and the hoses apart and I give them a thorough washing in soap and hot weaken. While they say that it doesn't lose suction, I tend to find that as the gunk starts piling up on the suction courtyard, it looses some of its effectiveness. It's just as easy to give it a wash and keep it working like new. I film all of the filters and then I soak the hoses, and then I inspect the floor brush to rid it of any clogs or debris that might be slowing it down. The whole handle takes a few hours. I usually wash the parts at night, and then let them soak, while the filters are drying. Then I put it all back together and it's as allowable as new. I've never had to replace a belt or any other part on my Dyson, ever.
When people balk at the price, I put it into perspective. You can spend $80 - $150 bucks (or more) on a new vacuum Regular, or you can spend the money on the Dyson, and have it last for 5 or more years (I mean, even if the thing died tomorrow, that's still about $120 a year), and have it pay for itself.

Colossal on pet hair but has the weight of a vintage Buick!
Being a Dyson this working model can suck up small farm animals without pausing to chew. The DC15 is a tad on the heavy side and doesn't have the apogee adjustment the non-ball model has so carpet/rug edges confuse the poor beast. Complete it's Kung-Foo is strong but it's size does not give you the Zen feeling.

The outright "BEST VACUUM" ever!!!
I have owned many vacuum's (and some of them set someone back well over $1000) in my time and I do have small dogs and this Dyson DC15 Animal ball vacuum cleaner is formidable and unbelievable. It makes vacuuming easy and you will not believe the suction power. It picks up everything even when the canister if full. It is everything and more that Dyson claims. You can vacuum before or after dusting because nothing escapes this cleaner. A lot of cleaners no substance when you vacuumed with them dust always escaped them. This cleaner is soooooooooooo easy to empty and all I can tell you if you want one GET IT!!! You will be sooo joyful you did. If I could have given this a 10 star I would have. This is the best vacuum cleaner ever..... Try it and you will understand!!! I look impudent to vacuuming and I thought I would never say that in my life. It takes less than half the time to vacuum as it did before I got this DC15. No adjustments to set for the new floor types, just turn it on and go..........Simply wonderful and a pleasure to own and use. Oh did I allusion I am disabled with limited mobility. As Paul Harvey used to say, now you know the rest of the version!!!

preference hate relationship
I have wanted a dyson for years but could not acquit spending the money, I finally broke down a month ago and LOVE it! On the other hand I think dyson could change some serious improvements for the price it sells for.
pros: picks up pet hair like no other vac I have ever used. Same goes for any dust, dust or debris on my floors. it is easy to carry up the stairs, but because of the length of the wand and shortness of the hose it makes it impervious to do the stairs.
cons: I think that the plastic that this vac is made out of is cheap. I know already that there are some small parts that are confidently gonna break sooner or later. not impressed with the wand: kinda aquward to get acquainted with to getting the hadle and wand off of the vac. and the hose is too short.
overall. I love this vac and wouldnt employment it for anything else. I hate a few things about it, but i have owned a ton of different bagless vacs and they all clog quickly and never pick up all of the per fraction. They all have multiple filters and are hard to clean and it never works as well as when you take it out of the box. The dyson has simple filters and they are easy to bathe a exhaust and replace. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT

First Vacuum Cleaner EVER!!
Decent finished vacuuming my floor after using my Oreck a day earlier and you would not believe the amount of pet hair that was picked up. My rug has never looked cleaner. I totally recommend this vacuum cleaner. It was lightweight, easy to manuever and to empty the organization bin was amazing. I didnt have to touch anything or turn anything over! All I did was push a button and it all fell out!
I wish I had bought a DYSON more rapidly. Goodbye Oreck...you are reassigned to the "old vacuum cleaner" area!

Product Description
A consequential benefit of the Miele S7 is its innovative, patented SwivelNeckTM which allows steering in all directions. The SwivelNeckTM is so maneuverable the S7 can even be laid like a bat out of hell to the floor which makes getting under beds and other low furnishings easier than ever before. Using the foot exchange, the casing is disengaged from the floor head and the rear wheels disappear into the body of the vacuum enhancing comprehensive maneuverability without exertion on your body. Movements are fluid, natural and almost effortless. The other key to nimbleness is velvety running front caster wheels that rotate 360° and have non-marring rubber wheels that screen hard, smooth surfaces like tile and wood flooring. The S7 negotiates obstacles with unlikely ease and reaches into inaccessible places... between tables, chairs and under chairs. Unalike other vacuum concepts, the Miele S7 provides this maximum agility without making you carry the Dialect heft. Thanks to superior engineering, when the vacuum is reclined, the majority of weight is carried by the vile electrobrush assembly making it easy to hold and remarkably easy to push. Impressive from hard flooring to carpeting? No problem. The floor switch raises the electrobrush making it satiny to jump from one surface to another. The electrobrush can be turned off, stopping the agitator bar, letting the suction power do all of the fat lifting.

Imaginary vacuum, Miele Jazz
I've had the Jazz for only a week now, but in that in days of yore it has exceeded my expectations.
I've owned Eureka, Panasonic, Dirt Devil, and Dyson. They died within 3-5 years, or were unprejudiced ineffective (Dirt Devil was both). Compared to the Miele, these other vacuums sound as loud as jet engines. I find the Dyson DC-14 extremely loud and harsh. The Miele is really quiet (for a vacuum), and the noise that it does do isn't unpleasant; e.g., it's not too high pitched or whiny.
Before using the Miele for the first time, I vacuumed the enterprise with my Eureka SmartVac Boss. I know, the Eureka is a non-starter in the world of boutique vacuums. However, I always trace the Eureka did an OK job of keeping the carpet clean on a day to day basis. As you might predict, the Miele picked up a eloquent amount of dirt and hair that the Eureka had apparently been missing. Looking in the Miele bag, you might guess that the doormat it just cleaned hadn't been vacuumed in 6 months. Also, the carpet felt softer after using the Miele. The stairs have Berber on them, and the Miele was qualified to lift the loop-pile back up like no other vacuum has been able to. It wasn't like the Berber was new again (it's well ragged and crushed down), but the Miele brush brought more life back into these worn stairs than any other vacuum I've tried.
The maneuverability of the S7 series Miele is eccentric. The swivel neck is not a gimmick; it really works. It's so easy to get the unit around corners, and if you unprejudiced want straight lines that's no problem either. The Miele's ability to lay flat is also convenient. Often, however, I've found I can't get too far under something because the Miele is still too absurd.
I haven't used any of the attachments yet, but the hose is sufficiently long for me. A previous commenter respected how she couldn't get up a full flight of stairs with just the hose. I don't use the hose that way, so I can't comment specifically to that matter. I just pick the vacuum up and use the main brush on the stairs. In doing this, I don't find the Miele too uninteresting, but I haven't quite figured out how to do this and hold it comfortably. When I do the stairs, I go down backwards. When I did this with previous vacuums, I would always surface a bit of the dirt flying back and hitting my shins. This doesn't happen with the Miele. The Miele, manifestly, seals the vacuuming area well enough so that everything gets sucked up into the bag. This is great when doing hard floors too, and it's a gust to switch the brush motor on and off (just flip a switch).
As with one reviewer, I experienced a clicking clap. For me, that was because the vacuum sucked up a piece of hard plastic that got stuck near the roller. I even-handed had to remove it. No big deal.
The brush sensor is a nice feature. This will stop the brush when it senses that something has gotten tangled up. I by accident sucked up the corner of a dress, but the roller automatically stopped and the dress was not damaged at all. On the flick side, I also ran over the cord and stripped it pretty far down in less than 2 seconds. This demonstrates both how powerful the brush is and how dumb I am. I have run over vacuum electrical cords my uninterrupted life, but I've never had one stripped by the vacuum brush this quickly or completely (most vacuums I've had won't strip the cord at all, uniquely not within 2 seconds as the Miele did). That's a powerful brush.
In short, this is a wonderful vacuum. It does a crap-shooter job than any other vacuum I've owned. I could buy several $300 vacuums over the next 10-15 years, or I could just buy one Miele (I got mine for $599 locally) that will (expectedly) last 20 years, and end up saving money and having cleaner carpets in the process. So, I bought the Miele, and I pleasure it.

Unexcelled Upright Vacuum
I've had the Jazz for about a week now. Prone the size, I didn't expect that it would handle as well as it does. It's fairly nimble. I use it to vacuum the northern floor of our house which is all wall-to-wall carpet. I've use the on=board tools
and they all work fitting as well and effectively as on my Miele Red Star canister vacuum. I also own a Miele stick vacuum with a power wit. I felt the need to get vacuum with a much larger bag, as I feel that I'm always changing the bags on my Miele stand by persevere.
Features I like: strong LED headlight, long range on powerd cord, consummate set of attachments, comfortable ergonomic handle, the ability to use a wood floor attachment on the separable wand, quality build. Features I would have like to have seen, especially given the figure: automatic cord rewind on the vacuum, easier to park the vacuum upright. It seems that it takes a small bit of effort to engage the latch upright.
The Miele Jazz is my third Miele. I bought a Red Star Canister vacuum about 15 years ago and it is still contemporary strong. About 6 years ago, I bought a 183, which is a lightweight stick vacuum, still working, but currently in the against due to a electrical cord which needs to be replaced.

I lurve this vacuum!
I have fallen supervisor over heels in love with my Miele S7! I will keep this as short as I can but I could go on for days. I have owned Kirby and Oreck uprights and Electrolux canisters and while each had aspects I liked, nothing I have ever habituated to compares to the Miele. I'll give just 2 great examples. 1)The vacuum works so well that my old doormat actually feels new again after vacuuming. You can tell the difference in the pile WITH your shoes on. 2)I have 3, yes THREE, pugs and they have ALWAYS gone amok every time I vacuum. The barking was like being in kennel but with all the dogs loose so they could also attack you while walked. I habituated to to have to put the dogs outside in order to vacuum which made for only vacuuming in short bursts during the winter. The Miele is like a miracle. They are really bored and disinterested in the whole vacuuming thing now. I vacuumed all around one of them while he was eating the other day and he never even brought his head out of the wheel. This would have been a beater bar killing offense with my old vacuums. Forget the fact that this vacuum cleans so perfectly, has all the needed tools on committee, has a huge dust bag, long supple cord, etc. and on and on, this gorgeous machine has brought peace of mind and harmony to my home. (OK, we still have issues with any delivery person.)

sorry
I right-minded returned my miele jazz after only 2 uses. I purchased the miele to replace my dyson animal, which worked well for two years, but has seemed less outstanding recently.
PROs of the miele jazz: Very easy to maneuver (swivel movement like a dyson shot), low front end that fits easily under cabinets and furniture with a low profile (like dressers and sofas), wonderful quiet, powerful suction, beautiful job on carpets and hardwoods.
CONs: On my second use, a gather of the plastic underbody of the machine started dragging and impeded the use of the vaccuum. The front of the underbody of the utensil is metal, but the middle and back plate is a very lightweight bendable plastic. The piece that was dragging on my auto was a small tab of plastic, next to the left wheel, below the pedal. There are two of these plastic tabs, one on each side, next to each wheel. The other features that I wasn't impractical about: the hose is too short to vaccuum a full set of steps -- you need to support the vaccuum on a be while you work with the attachment to make it all the way up or down, the vaccuum is on the heavy side, and the handle was a bit uncomfortable. I consider these elements adolescent, and would have happily lived with them for the cleaning performance of the miele.
Ultimately, for the price, the miele should get many more miles. I returned my miele for a refund. I characterize as the design of the bottom plate with the two flimsy plastic tabs is problematic and I would not recommend purchasing this vaccuum unless you can be known of a full refund from the retailer.

The A- Vaccum Cleaner ever made!!!
I can tumulus you without a doubt that this is, by far, the best vacuum I have ever used, and I have tried them all. I was a user of the dyson animal and hated it because I loathe not having a bag. The dust bin gets disgusting and difficult to clean, so I moved to an Oreck. I loved the Oreck so lightweight and did a courteous a job.
Now my friend went to charity auction, and came home with the Miele S7, how weird. But I gave this whirl and omg I was in attachment. This thing is whisper quiet, you can actually vacuum while a baby is sleeping. The Vacuum Bag holds everything, not a spec of dust escapes, which is consummate because I'm dust sensitive. Finally it really picks up everything, the suction is superb. Oh yea, it's extremely maneuverable as well.
It is however on the tad prodigious side, but only because the build quality is so good. Despite this it is easy to vacuum my entire house without getting fagged out.
So, unless you need a lightweight vacuum, this is the one to buy! you will very satisfied. I ended up buying one the next day after trying it.

Satisfied fellow!
I purchased a Miele "Misconstrual" from an authorized dealer and immediately had some problems with it. I returned it to the dealer and upgraded to a Salsa. This vacuum has mastery suction and overall had the quality I was looking for in a vacuum in this price range. Maybe the first vac was decent a lemon.
I am very happy with this machine and would recommend to anyone looking for a quality vac. The only complaint - attachment hose is not very yearn and handle sometimes gets in the way.

Guy Service - BAD
If you buy Miele from Amazon its not intended an "Authorized" Mile dealer. 99% of the Miele dealers refused to service the vacuum since I did not buy the contrivance from them - and that is unacceptable. Eventually one of them agreed and I am currently waiting for parts. For a $700 vacuum it should not complication where I bought the damn thing from and the warranty should be upheld.
To put substance in this review the hose split was defective when we received the vacuum from Amazon. The pipe literally just came off and it looks like a manufacturing escape. Miele USA agreed and they even reiterated that any Miele dealer should assist us as this was a warranty issue.
What a drag ! The whole ordeal was embarrassing to the point that I just wanted to return the vacuum cleaner. In any if it happens, we really have not used it as we are waiting for the hose to arrive. I may update the review once we can actually use the gadget.
Amazon users should be careful buying Miele products as Amazon is NOT an authorized vendor.

This vacuum rocks!
We've had a Miele tank vacuum for years, and my dad had it before that, and it perfectly won't die. I think it's over 20 yrs old. Fast forward- I got married, and my wife is not used to tank vacuums, because even with the powerhead (works fast on carpets) you still need to move the tank around to avoid bashing the furniture as it tries to follow you when you wrench the cord. After 5 years of watching the vacuum survive my wife (who has been secretly hoping it WOULD die), we mounted an maximum search of every vacuum on the market to see what kind of upright would pass the very high bar that had been set. The Dysons we tried were unwieldly. The Hoover and Eureka models we looked at were as often as not disregarded (as demo models), and if they wouldn't survive life as a demo in a store, they certainly won't endure my wife. Then, we stumbled across the Miele S7 line, and chose the 7280 as the right blend of features and bounty in the line (we didn't really need more electronic controls). Being bright mango red sealed the negotiation, and I expect we're going to have this one for a long time. I'm particularly impressed at how well it does the "limbo" to get under stuff, and the suction is impressive. It's much quieter than the other vacuums we've tried (including our prior Miele) and with the HEPA filtration, leaves devastatingly clean air in it's wake. Some reviews I've read have mentioned that this vacuum is heavy, but although I will admit it's not a lightweight, I'd undoubtedly use the word "substantial" instead of heavy. It's well balanced, and feels made to last- the weight is not objectionable.
This one's a conqueror!

Whopping Vaccuum
I have tried lots of diverse vacuums. The Dyson was so powerful it stuck to my carpet. I couldn't hardly push it. I called the company and they had me sack a piece but it didn't do much good so that vacuum went right back to the store. I usually end up buying the Eureka Manage and getting a new one when it wears out every few years. I just found a salesperson that convinced me to buy the miele and I totally betrothed it. It is a bit pricey, but with a 7 year warranty it is about the same as buying a new Eureka every few years. Here are the things I love about it. It is ver mild vacuum. I can vacuum during my babies nap or while the kids are watching the t.v. They just turn up the volume a few notches and we are beneficial. It is lots more peaceful to vacuum with less noise pollution. The cord is really long so I can do lots of rooms if I strategically pad my cord. I love the the switches are all on the handle so I can easily go from hardwoods to carpets without stopping and twisting down. This is very nice for rugs and things. That has always been one of my vacuum pet peeves. I also like the long and easily obtainable tube with the attachments that fit right on the back. Very handy. I could make it all the way up the stairs. The vacuum has good suction and does well on austere woods. I really like the color too. Red vacuums are sexy! It is not as wide as the Eureka, but it fits under things absolutely well. It bends very far down to get under things too. It swivels so you can maneuver it easily. Hooray for a fabulous vacuum!

This will last me 30 years
I undeniably wanted a Miele because when I was young my brother had severe allergy problems and one of his primary allergens was dust. So my parents went all out on a Miele. We are 34 and 31 now. They STILL use it as their apprise vacuum and still love it as well. Owning one was my dream but my husband wasn't sold on the price tag, philosophy that he's bought vacuums at a fraction of a price that have worked for years. However, after checking out and trying numerous ones at the hold and learning about filtration, this was one of the gold standards (as all Miele are). First, you want a bagged as opposed to bagless because it traps in the dust. This was high-level to me since I don't open my windows in the winter to let in fresh air since I live in Michigan. Second, there are many layers to its filtration system, plus it is sealed into the vacuum so nothing can swing back out into the air. Finally, its features are nice. Someone else acknowledged that the Carpet/Floor button is located correct next to the on/off switch. Yes, on occasion I hit the wrong button. To me, big deal. I still have a beautiful vacuum that swivels like a dyson, has a bag ill-matched with a Dyson, offers 4 different suction levels (for curtains, obviously light up to smooth floors, strongest), knee-jerk height adjustment, and should last me until my one year old son is in college at least. I am thrilled.

Friendly vacuum, but "motorhead" is worthless
Aphoristic, bagless, seems to create great suction. Just one problem: the carpet attachment included with this beau id is narrow and pathetic. I've used my share of vacuums over the years, but I've never seen anything like this. I measure it at 9" across, which means you have to devise a lot more passes to cover your floor than other vacuums you've probably used. It's also very lightweight, and rests fairly penetrating on a wheel where it joins the wand, so that it tends to skitter across the carpet rather than aggravating it. This is on normal, tufted bulkhead-to-wall carpet. You can get it to work if you apply downward pressure on the handle while vacuuming. Takes forever. I checked the dyson website, and no other motorhead seems to be elbow. In short, if you have hardwood, buy the "turbine" (air-powered) version of this. If you have carpet, avoid it like the evil.

Kenmore Beats Dyson In Consumer Reports Upright Vacuum Test - The ...
Dyson is not the Excalibur of upright vacuums, it's the Kenmore Revolutionary with Unequivocal Operate 35922, according to evaluate and assay results released in the latest issuance of Consumer Reports.
The fair-skinned wizards of yield testing rated the Kenmore at 74, soundly trouncing the Dyson's 64.
The Kenmore "Avant-garde with Aim Persistence 35922" garnered "outstanding" ratings for tidiness rug, emissions, pet ringlets, and tidiness barren floors.
The Dyson "DC17 Certain Savage" only got got "capital" for emissions and tidiness undisguised floors.
The Dyson is $250 more high-priced, in-value. However, you you can get both for over $100 cheaper by searching on Amazon for minor extent habituated to or refurbished versions.
We reason, if Consumer Reports neglected cut deputy, the greatness of bagless, and swivel supplication (with a Dyson, you don't essential to recant the vacuum to your congress and then spindle to interchange directions). Then again, one doesn't go to Consumer Reports looking for essence, but payment-efficacy.
The guy with the enchanting English intonation is not only the spokesman for Dyson but he is in inside info James Dyson the guy that invented the whole element. He not only invented bagless vaccuum cleaners but went on to start his own question manufacturing them because no other big maker would look at his conceive of. He singlehandely created an completely new edging of vaccum cleaners, built the host one vaccum cleaner in the the world at large and no apprehension took some enjoyment struggle other big companies who copied the imaginings they had rejected at one time
TRAI_DEP: Not inexorably, the Dyson payout 2x the outlay partly because of all the technology in it, it doesn't have to be better, the parts due cost more. The Dyson uses a twister system whereas the kenmore uses a bag system. I'm still more than glad with my Dyson though, I've had it for a pair years now and it also "sucks the shit out of my rug".
what a shocker! CR/CU rated a Sears produce higher than the same disgrace name matter that's the guts of their Kenmore point. I like their ammunition, but I have serious pay-off with their Sears partiality. I may have to chore my sympathies on the square. My literally to BPopkin didn't get a answer. (I be acquainted with I be aware, they're active making Consumerist.com awful.)

How to open up a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner?
Q:
The motor is working slender but the roller is not going round. The rubber is not snapped and is intact in its routine position, with plenty of tension.
A: opportune morning, have seen this one many many times. you should be able to rotate the brush bar by employee (machine switched of course). it should be reasonably free running. Run-of-the-mill cause is something like a small pencil trapped between the brush and if it should happen. Suggest you
1) turn machine its side.
2) Undo the three yellow screw using a 1p specie and see what is the obstruction.
Also, if the roller is not rotating, the motor with rapidly melt the rubber band at the point where it wraps around the motor spindle.
Incidentally, usual movement of this from my experience has been something like a small crayon
How effective is the Dyson upright vacuum cleaner on ceramic tiled floors?
Q:
A: Gracious Morning,
LOVE the Dyson on any type of floor. You can go from carpet to tile to hardwood and all the scrap, dust, crumbs, everything comes up. I don't know how it does it but it "never loses suction" like the man says on the commercial. I can't say enough about this vacuum. And it is very scintillation and very sturdy.
It is excellent on ceramic tiled floors!!
