I've read a good majority of the Reviews before purchasing this. I decided to try it (I have an older dog that gets unhealthy alot), since my Hoover carpet shampooer died. I am thrilled that I got the Bissell. What a difference, it is easier to use. Only one pail for the water (I hated having 2 separate tanks that I had to keep refilling and emptying, now it is one trip). This shampooer works illustrious. I liked it so much I decided to shampoo both the living room and dining room carpets. They came up so hair-splitting, that I then decided to do my bedrooms. Very pleased. Plus the price was great. Had a rebate for $50 from Bissell, increased by it was on sale with a $20 gift card. I've had this for over 6 months now and am very happy. requests improving I did not get the goods I ordered... a smaller less effective model was sent. Also the bladders are way to small and many trips are needed back to the bedew dilute source. Indulgent clean-up This steam cleaner is very docile to use once you put it together. The directions don't clearly show where the attachments go, but that's the worst I can say about this product. It is VERY easy to take apart and clean the pet tresses and dirt out of. The one I was borrowing required a screwdriver to reach accumulated cat hair and the handle chunk had to be laid flat and unsnapped to access the water tank. Picking up the water tank allotment in this machine is as easy as picking up a bag with handles. All in all, a great, no fuss, user friendly output. not usefulness it This implement is a piece of crap. I worked one time before breaking down on us. The rotating brushes no longer m, which we found out was a "common problem" with this machine. Also, it's true that it picks up very little dirty water. The only redeeming angle of this machine is the brush attachment which still works. Don't waste your money on this. had some heckler, but solved it We've had our Bissell for almost 10 years, only adapted to it 4 or 5 times. It had been a few years since the last use, and this time, very little water or cleaner would come out. I read a lot of the reviews here, and after some dig into, decided to check to see if the spray nozzles were clogged. Yup, they were. You have to remove the water tank, and you should see the 2 nozzles (red on my scale model). Gently remove them from the tubes and check by blowing in the end. I put a toothpick in to clean out some dirt. Seems to exertion fine now. One new problem is it seems to drip water out of the bottom even when the trigger isn't depressed. We had to go over the rug again with an empty water tank to suck up the walk-on water. I read a lot of reviewers had thrown theirs away due to this problem, hopefully this fix will put aside some. Bissell ProHeat 2X CleanShot Upright Deep Cleaner, Red Berends, 9500Product DescriptionBISSELL ProHeat 2X Cleanshot Honest Deep Cleaner-9500. Revolutionary cleaning system with dual brushes and heating system for a take a bath you can see. This machine offers CleanShot¿a heavy-duty spot cleaning at the push of a knob. This machine also includes Dry Aire¿, heated air that dries the carpet while you clean. A built-in oven heats hot tap water up to 25 degrees hotter for MAXIMUM cleaning.Customer Reviewsbissell proheat 2xI have tolerant of the cleaner only 3 times on carpet so far. I enjoy the ease of the machine. Easy to fill/empty/use. Cleaner does the job; get a kick the heat feature. Carpets not left so wet as with other cleaners. Where Amazon is concerned, the price of the contrivance was excellent, delivery timely. Proficient Cleaner! Very lofty carpet cleaner! Highly recommend this to anyone needing to clean their carpets quickly. Does a extensive job!! Pleasure IT! This is the first doormat-cleaning machine we've tried that actually seems to work. Have used it twice so far and were very pleased with the results. Would to be sure recommend. Bissell Proheat 2x 9500 - well benefit the price !! I righteous purchased this Bissell Proheat 2x 9500 to replace my Hoover SteamVac. The Hoover cleans ok, but I actually wanted this Bissell. This Bissell Proheat 2x 9500 is well worth the additional cost !! The setup was extremely effortless, and the instruction manual easy to understand. The tools are far easier to use than on the SteamVac. Please note that the guarantee EXCLUDES commercial use. I didn't find any "yuckiness" with emptying the dirty water for which some reviewers have complained. The untidy water does surround the clean water bladder ... HOWEVER, there's a little rave for emptying the dirty water. It's far cleaner to empty the dirty water than gunk in washing saucers. The heater does exactly as promised -- it warms the clean water to 15 degrees above the temp of the bath-water poured into the bladder (hot tap water only). The machine is no heavier than an old-fashioned vac, or one of those rented rug steamers. I have cats and cat parents will understand how cat stains and "litter box issues" can leave set in stains. This Bissell Proheat 2x 9500 has removed them all !! For some, it did take a few passes. The upholstery gizmo also removed a really old stain from an antique chair. I've used it three times now, and my beige carpeting looks like new again. Noteworthy CARPET CLEANER !! (And "no" -- I do NOT work for Bissell.) Are you disorganized??? If you're looking through these reviews you're all things considered as confused as I was a few weeks ago. I didn't realize there were so many choices on the market. I cleaned carpets professionally when I was younger so I had a pretty information idea about the features necessary for the best cleaning job. Since many of the models had identical features, I definite on the Bissell Red Berends 9500 (OK--I liked Red). So far, I think I made the right choice at the right sacrifice. The distribution of the cleaning solution, the mechanical action of the double row of brushes, & the potent extraction of dirty water are all the elements you need for a complete rug cleaning job. Sure, you have to empty the grungy water often & replace it with the clean, but isn't that what cleaning is all about? Besides, changing the water is really easy because of the together way it's designed; and, you don't have to measure & mix the cleaning solution because you can dial it automatically for light, normal or heavily soiled areas. You can also set it for a ring false rinse to remove some of the soap solution. I like this feature because leftover soap tends to together dirt quicker if it's left in the carpet. I haven't had a chance to use all of the 4 hand tools yet--except for the furrow tool which cleans the edges. It works great---even has a little sprayer on it to pinpoint the polluted areas by the baseboards. I can't say that carpet cleaning is a fun job, but this machine makes it enjoyable because it does such a intimate job. Most of the time I kept the solution dial at "light" because it seemed to clean well without having to use more soap. Dialect mayhap this was because the carpet had been previously cleaned & some of the old soap residue still remained. This was where the "rinse" feature came in useful. The entire unit seems to be well made & should give me good service for years to come. I hope I'm right. OK---the voice is still yours. I just wanted to limit your confusion. Every perpetually I used the Proheat 2X the carpet was wet for about three days, and about a week before it was completely dry. In an attempt to suck up all the excellent I could, I went over the carpet many times, which made it take hours to clean even the tiniest of rooms. The carpet was also crunchy for a connect of days after it dried. Also, the hose attachment started dumping the cleaner out whenever I used it. And when all is said this morning, when I REALLY needed the machine to work (bad dog!), it used an entire reception room full of cleaner to clean a 2'x6' area. And only sucked up about 10% of the water. I've had this for about 4 years, but because it was such a hassle I only tempered to it once or twice a year (in my small house). I also used the hose attachment about once a year. So that's no more that 12 times, before it entirely broke. I bought a Hoover Dual V Steam Vac today. It works so much better! It sucked up almost all of the shower it put out. And I feel like it picked up so much more dirt than the Proheat 2X. And because it picked up the water so well, I didn't have to go over the same smidgin multiple times, so it cut the time down a lot. If you are on the fend off -- go get this product! So, I was skeptical. $199 is irrefutably not a terrible price for a steam cleaner, but it seemed like a lot of money for what is essentially a "luxury" household notice, right? Well so I thought. I was back and forth, back and forth about buying it or just calling Stanley Steamer (or renting at the Tyrant). After hours of internet research, and knowing that I wanted a product that I could buy locally (this model is also sold at Targ*t in my block), I took the plunge. Could. not. be. any. more. pleased. And I am the first to be picky. So -- here we go... The "out of the box" experience was a good one. Nicely packaged, with minimum non-recyclable materials. Thank you, Bissell. The machine comes in 5 parts, with a total of 4 screws that have to be put in (note to Bissell -- give prior notice me that you gave me an extra screw next time! I appreciate it but it made me nervous). Assembly is second-sighted. The upper handle locks in and you screw in 3 screws. Then comes the top of the hose-hanger-thingey, 1 ballocks. Bottom of hose-hanger/tool holder snaps into place, and you are off to the races. Started with a 8 x 12 living room court rug that I was ready to pitch in the garbage. This rug was ickkk, but I though "why not give it a shot?" After reading the instructions, I found components the tank and cleaning solution to be easy. I love that the cleaning solution is stored break up from the water, meaning that I don't have to throw away any unused solution. So -- the rug. Sweet Whimsical Moses y'all! I cannot believe that I previously allowed toddlers into my home. The dirty water was graveolent (and honestly, although the rug looked "tired," it really didin't look "dirty" or stained -- it's been well-cared for an customarily vacuumed, but apparently that is not enough.) Anyway, it took 2 cleanings to get the water running clear, but that is my deficiency not Bissell's. Today, after a thorough drying, and a run over with the vacuum cleaner (to pick up residual lint), it looks almost mark new ("almost" because there are some worn spots, but from a cleanliness perspective it is amazing what this little machine was able to complete). So, for $200 I saved myself from buying a new 8x12 area rug.... I will eventually replace it, but for now it is very all right. Next moved on to a pet area. I have an 11-year-old epileptic Alaskan Malamute, which means LOTS of pet ringlets and the occasional "accident." (Eww, sorry). Sprayed the objectionable area with "Approve," waited 3 minutes, then put the Bissell to work. WOW. This carpet was relatively-new (2-ish years), and now it looks stigmatize new. All of the stains are gone, the brushes revived the fibers and left them soft to the feet, and the room smells clear and fresh again. Finally, today I moved onto hard floors. I thought my hard floors were unspoiled, so I wasn't expecting much, but I wanted to give it a whirl. Snapping the hard floor cleaner into position was intuitive, and by now I was used to filing the resevoir, cleaning fluid, etc. Did the bathroom. WOW again. I scrub on hands and knees all the interval, but apparently there is no substitute for really high heat. This machine will not replace hand scrubbing becaue (i)it is a lot of agency to pull out for a 10x12 floor; and (ii) I didn't really feel like pulling out the hand aid to get into the egdes and curvy spots (base of toilet etc.), but for an every now and again "deep" cleaning this sentiment is the bomb. Okay, I don't work for Bissell and this machine is not perfect. By "not perfect," however, I mean that it may not meet YOUR expectations. Here are the downsides.... First, the tube brushes, while they are doing a wonderful job of rejuvenating the carpet, are also generating an unholy amount of wet "lint." This is geographically come to pass even if you do a very thorough job of vacuuming beforehand (and absolute MUST). Especially if you are not using a fantastic vacuum-cleaner-extractor that sucks up all lint weekly (my vacuum is equitable an average-brand), you WILL have to clean out the brush-area and extracting-area frequently. I am assured that this need will be reduced if I use the machine more regularly. Second, this is NOT an "industrial" machine, and it is not intended to be such. The parts are shoddy, they are not all that easy to clean, and you need to take of them in order to preserve the life of the machine. If you plan to go into the confound-cleaning business, or have an aversion to all things plastic, then this is not for you. It's a dingy, not the Queen Elizabeth II. But, with some dearest, I am confident that it will be all I need for some time to come. Third, somebody else noted that this is a heavy machine, and I go together. It is not the product to buy if you are not in reasonable shape, or if you just want a "light and easy" tool to use on the larder floors every now and again. For that, I would suggest one of those "steam mops" you see on TV. The Bissell is more of a tool that you pull out every few months to do a "deep honourable." After all, it is carry about a couple gallons (?) of water, and water weighs about 8 lbs. per gallon. My proposal is that if you are going up and down stairs, carry the water tank separate from the machine. Fourth, and this is extraordinarily my only "beef," the instruction guide is weak, and not what I would expect for $200. It is printed on 8 1/2x11 rice-letter-paper, folded side-ways, and the illustrations are virtually useless as a result. The diagram of how you are supposed to stockpile the on-board tools is laughable in its miniscul-ity (yep, made that word up). Also, the text may have been drafted by a non-aboriginal speaker. Sooo not user-friendly or helpful. Luckily, most aspects of the machine are beautiful intuitive, but expect a little head-scratching when you first get started. In sum, not a commercial machine (but those fetch thousands), and it takes some patience (pre-cleaning, post-cleaning) to get good results. But, for $200 and some elbow oil, this thing WILL produce great results. Better, in my opinion, that I ever saw from hiring a company to neat my carpet (maybe becuase I care more that they do?). If you are on the fence I'd vote that you take the plunge. Bent my clean carpets! I bought a condo that had brand name-new ivory colored carpets (not my color choice). White carpet looks marvy when it's clean, but not so great when you get high-traffic dinginess. After some research I bought this doormat cleaner & I'm so glad I did. Compared to the rental units I've used before this is wonderfully liven up - the size and weight of a heavy vacuum. There's no mixing, as the hot water goes into one tank and the cleaning deciphering into another. Just turn the knob to clean high-traffic, normal, or light and you're skilful to go. The water heating feature works well. It's not steam, but the damp carpets do touch very warm right after cleaning. The tanks are simple to remove and replace - lift out and set back in. Once the entity isn't lifting much water out of the carpet anymore I put a fan in the room and my carpets are generally dry in 4-5 hrs. I'm picky about keeping a sing house, and with this cleaner it's wonderful to be able to clean the high-traffic area shortly and easily. It's a cinch to use and easy on my 40 y.o. woman back and my carpets always look clean! :) Cant on I walked around barefoot on that!!! I truly just bought the machine and I can't say enough good things about it!! I live in an apartment and the carpet was cleaned, condign like most apartment complexes, right before I moved in. Even so, the carpet was noticeably dirty. It's undeniable that the previous tenant had pets, and judging by the size of some of the stains, it was either a mastiff or a horse. I figured since it was well-founded shampooed before the move in that I just have to live with it. After a month of not being able to lie on my carpet, I headed to my local Wal-Mart and bought this contraption. Assembly was a snap, took about 5 mines to put the machine together, mostly because I have a 5-in-1 screw driver instead of a pick shaft, so fitting that in the hole was an issue. Worried about waking the neighbors, I decided to upstanding vacuum the carpet and wait until a Godly hour to begin steaming. Seems I was worried about the wrong gang. Turns out, the steamer was so much quieter than the vacuum. Now, let's get the story straight, a lot of people are complaining that the machine is coarse. I do work out 10 hrs a week, so my opinion may be a little bias, but it's rather light. The brushes on the auto are moving forward so fast, I can understand how a Medicare recipient would have a problem pulling the utensil backwards. Luckily, the steamer is so efficient, it only requires one pass to clean up after itself, unlike the kids. I had my Jefferson DVD playing, and I started tidiness after the opening credits. So we're going to use that as a measuring tool. From start to finish, that's about 20 minutes an event. I was able to start and finish my 15x20 dining room in time to see who directed that episode. Extensive story short, this is my first Bissell. I was going back to pick up the Dyson ball later today but this will be a strong act to follow by any other manufacturer. Honestly, I wish there was another star...5 stars seems a bit unfair It does a very data d fabric job. This implement does a very good job. My carpets look great. I used the heavy setting for a hallway access and for a bathroom/powder- room area. The Machine mixes the product with the water to give the comme il faut results for the choice selected: heavy trafic, normal traffic, light traffic, or unreserved water. The water canister serves two purposes. It hold the clean water in a bladder and also holds the untidy water sucked from the carpets outside the bladder. There is only one cannister to load and unload. The rubric is in a separate bottle that is easy to fill and load. The brushes work only when the handle is in the ready or down possition. The ballyhoo level is about the same as other units I have used. The big plastic wheels allowed for easy movement and did not vamoose any tracks. I used the Bissell cleaning formula and it left the rooms with a pleasantly fresh sent. There is an on accommodate heater that will heat the hot tap water another 25 degrees which can be turned off for delicate area rugs. This implement appears to be well engineered with a lot of thought making this a user friendly machine. Bissell includes 12 extra vacuum bags to get you started. --Emily Bedard Customer ReviewsI've owend my Bissell DigiPro for over a year...And I have appealing much liked every single thing about it until last week. Let me start by saying I did not buy this vacuum here, I bought it at Walmart. My last perpendicular vacuum broke and I was adamant about getting a canister vacuum due to hardwood and carpeted floors, light heaviness, and easier carrying up stairs. (The uprights are so damn heavy and my parents loved their Bissell canister vac from the 90's) I didnt indeed have any issues with this vacuum over the past year and a half. We have dogs and cats, no issues with sucking power or clogs. We have hardwood, doormat, tile, and stairs...no issues with ANY of those surfaces. With this vacuum I practically threw my brooms away. HOWEVER...last week my Bissell poor. I knew it was going to happen, I could tell. Certain pieces on this vacuum are FLIMSY AND PLASTIC when they should be metal, etc. The vacuum up against it where the "Pole" meets the "Foot" (foot meaning the flat part where the brushes are). I wasnt vacuuming under anything, or around anything. It wasnt "knocked" or "hit" I was fair vacuuming low carpet and the plastic literally snapped. It snapped below where the pole connects to the foot so the telegram that connects them is still in tact but the pole and the foot have sharred plastic around them and no tape or glue will put it back together. Called Bissell and was told I needed to return the Pole for $43.99 and the foot for $64.99, since both pieces obviously snapped apart, totaling $108.98. I neutral dont know that it's worth it. I wasnt blown away by this vacuum, although I had no real issues with it, my old upright did fess up a little better. I will take my $108.98 and go buy a crap vacuum from Walmart...since they all seem to be disposable these days anyway. BISSELLS Edition: [...] Unfortunately, this upshot does not SUCK. When my uncorrupted vacuum died after I had replaced 95% of my carpet with hardwood, I thought a cannister vacuum would be a better voice. I have two other Bissell products (the Pro Heat 2X carpet cleaner, and the SpotBot) and have been happy with the performance of both. Unfortunately, the DigiPro did not endure up to my expectations. There are some nice features, like the telescoping feature of the wand, and the unit is less thunderous that the old upright. And I sort of got used to the heavy wand and the clunkyness of it. But now I find that the genuine Bissell vacuum bags have such a light built-in gasket, that air leaks in at that point and there is no suction at the end. Bissell customer support was not helpful and are not sensitive of any problems. I will try to find the non-Bissell vacuum bags that I bought once before that had a stronger gasket, and save my pennies for a new vacuum that actually does suck. Hoover 12 amp is bigger. This is not a bad mcahine but does not have enough suciton power. I initially opted for this one becuase it has a powered touch disregard but the suction let me down. HEPA filter is nice but I would prefer more suction and use a HEPA BAG. Not a RECO. Disgusting Vacuum, Waste of Money! My ball and I purchased this vacuum probably four years ago. At first we thought it was great, worked good and was easy to use. Over at intervals, however, I've become less and less enamored with it. Let me give some examples. First, it does clog very easily because of the design. Secondly, I've found that there are issues with keeping a considerable connection between the hose and the canister section. As you move around with it, it tends to try and yank itself out, resulting in constant and irritating 'brown outs' where you lose power to the sweeper (and the light). Another thing I don't like is the suction. It starts off appealing good, but it drops off pretty quick and towards the end, when the bag is filling up, it's pretty much useless. And no, the HEPA weed out does not work very well at all on this unit, it blows the majority right back out. I don't personally use this feature, or charge about it I guess I should say, so it didn't matter to me. If it matters to you, avoid this unit like the plague. Once, probably the worst thing, is that the hose is constantly kinking itself, becoming twisted (to where it will keep trying to coil until you untwist it) and so on. The last straw for me was when the hose completely separated from the handle without warning. One minute I'm vacuuming, the next I approve of a suction noise and notice that I'm holding onto a handle where the hose is dangling out the end by a thread (the on the knuckles that has the wiring in it). I got a couple years of service from this unit, and it does vacuum, but it's got too many imperfections to it. I would never buy this vacuum again and I'd strongly admonish anyone here to carefully read all these negative reviews, look at all the consistent problems (especially the hose!) and circumvent far clear of this thing. Doormat attachment clogs easily The doormat attachment has clogged twice in the handful of times I've used it. The first time, I had to take off six screws to unclog. The transfer time, I managed to clear it with a long screw-driver and the wand was also clogged. My 15-yr old Hoover picked up improved.
